COMMUTERS are facing major disruptions this evening after Hebden Bridge and Mytholmroyd were hit by flooding.
The A646 New Road Hebden Bridge, is closed both ways between Heptonstall Road and A6033 Commercial Street.
Other majorly affected area’s include Cragg Road and Burnley Road at the turning circle at Todmorden.
Police have said water escaping from Nutclough Water has made the A6033 Keighley Road out of Hebden Bridge impassable.
The road has been closed.
There are also problems with busses:
In Hebden Bridge, Service D is suspended for the rest of the day and Transdev service 500 is only running between Keighley and Oxenhope.
In Mytholmroyd, Services 560 and 579 are operating up to 45 minutes late.
Services 591, 593 and 594 are suspended.
Services 590 and 592 running from Halifax to Burnley and Rochdale via Mytholmroyd, Cragg Road, Turvin Road and the A58. Service 590 will then run through Littleborough to Rochdale; passengers wishing to go to Todmorden can catch service 589 from Littleborough to Todmorden.
Service 592 will follow the above diversion from Mytholmroyd but will be turning right at Littleborough on to Todmorden Road then continue on through Walsden to Todmorden.
The floods have led to the cancellation of bus services in the town. Platform one at Hebden Bridge Station is closed due to flooding and commuters are being told to go on to Todmorden Station and return to platform two at Hebden Bridge station.
