GET ready for an action-packed day of family fun - and the chance to meet two film stars.

Adrian Hall and Heather Ripley, who played Jeremy and Jemima in the classic film Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, will be special guests at the Big Family Day Out 2012 in Centre Vale Park, Todmorden, on July 28.

They will be reunited with the famous car from the movie.

Other guests include CBeebies presenter Alex Winters and Birmingham Stage Company’s Horrible Histories team will entertain the crowds by running a workshop live on stage.

The event, which is being held as part of the park’s centenary celebrations, will have other attractions including the Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre, a Harry Potter themed workshop, Welly Bob’s Farm, and Rastamouse and Scratchy.

Activities such as an African drums workshop, children’s rides, a bike track, toddler zone woodland walks and giant games will also run during the day.

Organiser Brett Beresford, from Decades Events Ltd, said: “It’s one of the biggest line-ups that has ever been seen in Todmorden, with famous names and people from TV.

“Hopefully it will appeal to everybody and attract lots of people.”

Advance tickets, which include admission to all the activities, are available now.

They are priced £12 for adults (children £9) and can be purchased from Todmorden Information Centre, Hebden Bridge Visitor and Canal Centre and Halifax Tourist Information Centre.

A family ticket of two adults and two children is available for £38. Free entry for children aged under two.
