A CLUBBER told police he was George Bush after being caught with a knife on a night out.
Gareth Cooke, 26, pleaded guilty to possession of a knife in a public place at the Venue nightclub, Todmorden.
A member of the public told bouncers at the club about the weapon during a night out on July 16 this year.
They approached Cooke, of Poplar Avenue, Todmorden, who was drunk, and told him to leave.
Calderdale magistrates heard that Cooke kept reaching into his pocket, which concerned one of the bouncers who grabbed him by the arm.
Police arrived to arrest him at 2.20am when Cooke made his claims about being the former US president.
The court heard that Cooke did not plan to use the knife and had forgotten it was there.
He was sentenced to 20 weeks in prison.
