If you fancy a flutter, it’s a safe bet you’ll have some fun at Todmorden Lions’ next fundraising night for rising GB table tennis star Megan Shackleton!

Following the success of September’s pig racing night, the Lions host a Family Fun Casino Night at the Fielden Centre, Ewood Lane, Todmorden, from 8pm on Saturday, November 23.

Tickets are £5 and include a starting fund of £2,000 of gambling chips as well as the supper. Lions fun pounds will be the currency on the night and roulette, blackjack and dice will be the games.

There will be prizes for the individuals who have “won” the most money at the end of the evening. Once again, it is a “bring your own drinks” event.

Tickets are available from any Lion, by emailing todlions@hotmail.co.uk, from Jayne Shackleton or from Todmorden Information Centre.

The appeal should by Christmas be close to having raised enough money to order a sports wheelchair for GB squad member Megan.

l Lions are also organising their Santa Sleigh and aim to visit as many places as possible but need four adults - Lions or friends - to help Santa out. Sleigh journeys are limited by other commitments and sometimes, unavoidably, the weather.

“If anyone can spare a couple of hours on one or two occasions to help us out, we and the children of Todmorden would be very grateful. If you would like to help, please contact Lion Michael on 07789631716 for more details,” said a Lions spokesman.
