It’s almost time to get arty and crafty!

The arts and crafts section of Todmorden Agricultural Show, which will be on June 16 this year at the town’s Centre Vale Park, is ready to receive entries for the show.

Schedules and entry forms for 2012 can be obtained from Todmorden Information Centre, Todmorden Library, Todmorden Community College, Hebden Bridge Information Centre, Hebden Bridge Library, Todmorden News Centre newsagents and through local schools.

Classes for competitors in the adult section are handicraft, hand-crafted bead jewellery, woodwork, flower arranging, baking, painting, pastel or drawing work, three-dimensional art and photography.

Children’s rosettes have been sponsored by Todmorden company Weir Minerals Europe Ltd and school age classes include baking, needlework, craft, painting, handwriting, design technology and photography.

Demonstrations in the arts and crafts tent in the afternoon will include hand-crafted jewellery and traditional canal boat art.

l On Saturday, June 2, arts and crafts section volunteers will have a stall on Todmorden Market from 10am to 3pm to accept completed entry forms. They hope this will help make pre show day entries easier. Entries made on the day will be charged £1.
