Todmorden Riverside Improvement Group (TRIG) is collaborating with Calder Future to celebrate River Day this Saturday, June 22.
Spokesman Penny Bennett said: “All are welcome to come and join us with a litter clear up and balsam bash to try and eradicate the Himalayan Balsam from the area around Tipside. TRIG can provide gloves and litter picks but please wear sensible footwear.
“We are meeting from 2pm onwards on Tipside just down from the Rose Street footbridge at the back of the Market Hall in Todmorden.
“If you want to know a bit more about the wildlife on Tipside, join us for a nature walk, let us show you some of the wonderful range of wild plants you can see and find out more about the birds, insects and other animals you might expect to see. We’ll also have ideas for our proposed interpretative board on display for people to comment on.”
