Jon’s Royal day out at the castle

AN award-winning Special Constable met members of the Royal Family at Windsor Castle.

SC Jon Sayer, from Todmorden, made small talk with the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh during the event.

Jon, who is also a Scout leader, was recently awarded the presigious Scouts Gilt Cross for bravery after saving a man from the River Calder.

He and fellow Scouts attended the event at Windsor Castle.

Jon has also been presented with the Special Constable of the Year Award.

A police spokesperson said: “From all in the upper Calder Valley, well done Jon.”
