LEAD thieves have been active in the town again.
Police received reports that someone was removing lead from a roof in the Glen Avenue area of Todmorden on September 24, shortly after 4am. Inquiries are currently ongoing.
Insp Dave Browning said: “This is a problem not just in the Todmorden area but also nationally due to the price of semi-precious metal like lead and copper increasing.
“Neighbourhood Policing Team officers recently held a day of action that included specific action targeting scrap metal theft. Officers stopped vehicles and visited scrap metal dealers in the area to check they were complying with the law.
“Further action is planned in the near future and we continue to urge the local community to tell us what they know or suspect is happening in their area and we will take the necessary action.”
