CALDER Valley residents are being offered the chance to have their say about how improvements to the Household Waste Recycling Centre at Eastwood can be made.
A consultation will take place between September 6 and 18 with the launch event taking place at Bridgeholme Cricket Club, Eastwood on Tuesday, September 6, “drop in event” between 1pm and 6.30pm.
Calderdale Council’s Cabinet member for employment and environment, Coun Barry Collins, says Eastwood is the next of the authority’s waste transfer stations to come under scrutiny. “We are looking at making the site easier and safer to use whilst boosting the recycling levels and having a reduced impact on the site’s neighbours,” he said.
Calderdale Council’s leader, Calder ward Coun Janet Battye, says: “As well as a chance to be heard and help improve the facility at Eastwood Recycling Centre residents can also help shape their neighbourhoods at the same time - there’s a chance to get involved in developing a Neighbourhood Plan for the whole of Eastwood.”
Eastwood Residents Association has appointed planning consultants Placemaker Associates to assist them in the development of a Neighbourhood Plan to cover the whole of the Eastwood community.
Placemaker Associates will attend the launch consultation on September 6 and invite residents to give their ideas.
