MORE local entries are sought by the sheep section at this year’s Todmorden Agricultural Show next Saturday.
While there is a healthy number of entries, with competitors heading to Centre Vale Park from places including York and Blackburn, section secretary Margaret Wood said she would like to see more locals.
“We’re pleased that there is increasing interest in the British native breeds, but we are struggling more with locals and the lack of Lonks and Gritstones. “Todmorden has been an important show for these breeds in the past and it is a shame to see their decreasing numbers,” she said.
There are extra prizes for classes with ten entries or more.
