The NPT team have reported the Bomb Squad were called in to Todmorden

THE Bomb Squad were in Todmorden for the second timwe in a month when they were called to Todmorden Police Station in Burnley Road yesterday.

The Neighbourhood Policing Team have reported that officers had to call the Bomb Squad to the station after a local resident handed in a number of old marine flares for disposal.

Because the flares can be dangerous Army bomb disposal officers were contacted and agreed to safely dispose of them.

An NPT spokesman said: “Many thanks to the Army for their assistance.”

In mid August they were called to the Environment Agency’s flood alleviation works in Rochdale Road after a suspected unexploded device was discovered. The Bomb Squad confirmed the device had exploded previously and took it away for safe disposal.
