Centre fitness suite set to double in size

PLANS are now well advanced to double the size of the fitness suite - and associated equipment - at Todmorden Sports Centre.

Coun Ian Cooper said that this followed a successful bid to external funders.

“The current size, dictated by building configuration, has seriously limited the effectiveness of this otherwise excellent facility, but the vision to carry out building modifications will allow this to happen,” he said.

Calderdale Council had been approached to provide the balance of funding.

“We are confident that we should be able to go out to tender in April this year, with works completed during this calendar year,” he said.
