Focus at exhibition is on Deborah's skills

PHOTOGRAPHER Deborah Palmer is exhibiting her work at Todmorden Tourist Information Centre this month.

The Walsden based photographer says she has always been drawn to art but more so to photograph landscapes and sunsets.

"And now and again I tend to come across something a little different," she says.

A turning point was a holiday in Puerto Rico in 2004, says Deborah, when her jewellery and camera were stolen from her apartment.

"I decided to buy a camera with the money from the insurance payout. I chose a Sanyo 55 digital camera with five megapixels.

"Then I was hooked and have been ever since," she says.

A member of Todmorden Photographic Society for two years, she says she is learning all the time - and visitors can see some of the results through February.

- THERE are still some exhibition dates free for gallery space at Todmorden Tourist Information Centre.

Anyone interested in staging an exhibition should contact the TIC which can be reached by telephoning 01706 818181.
