Gretna Green wedding
A COUPLE had a reception in Walsden after a wedding in Gretna Green.
Patrick John Laurie married Ashleigh Louise Hanson at the Old Mill Forge, Gretna Green, Scotland. A party was held at Walsden Cricket Club a few days later.
The bridegroom, eldest son of Patrick Mannion, of Eccles, and Sylvia Malone, of Bradford, is a HGV operative for Rossendale Council.
The bride, eldest daughter of Nigel and Angela Hanson, of Hollins Meadow, Walsden, is a staff nurse at Blackburn Royal Infirmary.
Given away by her father the bride wore an ivory gown, designed by Christina Rossi, which had diamante detail, a veil encrusted with diamante detail held in place with a silver tiara, and carried a bouquet of ivory roses and blue thistles.
The bridesmaids were Miss Olivia Hanson, the bride's sister; Miss Glynis Jones, the bride's friend; Miss Isobel Laurie and Miss Ruby Laurie, the bridegroom's daughters.
Luke Jones, a friend of the couple, was the best man. Max Laurie, the bridegroom's son, and Simon Lownds, a friend of the couple, were groomsmen.
The couple had a honeymoon in Turkey.
They will live in Bacup.
