'Hat and Chat' day for funds

FAMILY, friends and neighbours raised £850 for the Motor Neurone Association at a "Hat and Chat" garden party at Harvelin Park, Todmorden, with good weather adding to an enjoyable afternoon.

In addition 285 was pledged in sponsorship for a Sahara trek to be undertaken inn November by brothers Neil and Matthew Priestley. Matthew and Neil hope to raise more than 4,500, which will help support people suffering from Motor Neurone Disease and help fund further research into causes and treatments for the disease.

Further fundraising is planned on July 8 when a golf day is being organised at Todmorden Golf Club. There will be a buffet, followed by a sports auction which includes executive seats for both a Manchester United FC match and a Burnley FC game.

Anyone wishing to find out more about the trek to add their support or sponsorship should ring Ann on 01706 814202.
