Head shaved in tribute to popular hairdresser

A WOMAN has raised hundreds of pounds for charity by shaving her head in memory of a popular hairdresser.

Vanessa Barber, 37, raised more than £750 by taking part in the charity head shave as a tribute to Matthew Horlock, who was a stylist at Nomad, Halifax Road, Todmorden.

Matthew, who died in August, was the boyfriend of Vanessa’s sister, Virginia.

The head shave took place at the Cotton Mill, Water Street, Todmorden, kindly hosted by the owners, Kerry and Jo.

Vanessa’s mum, Harriet Marshall, said: “A lot of people attended. It was a great night.”

The money raised will be donated to the charity Mind.
