Jiving back to the fabulous Forties
FANCY jiving back to the 1940s?
Well, thanks to an event promoted by a Calder Valley group next month, you will be able to do just that!
The Upper Valley Stroke Group have organised the event, which will be at Todmorden Town Hall on Saturday, April 10, from 7pm to 11pm.
Your hosts will be GI Jive, who have been providing music for 40s and similar events for a dozen years and come highly recommended, performing the right sounds for the occasion.
Barbara Ellison of the group said: "Whether you want to do the waltz, stroll, quickstep, foxtrot or jive, they come highly recommended and play classic 40s stuff."
She said 1940s dress was encouraged but not essential for enjoying what was set to be a great night out.
Tickets for the event are available from Cryers Newsagents in Todmorden town centre and are 7.50. They can also be booked by ringing Barbara for details on 01706 819724.
Light refreshments will also be available to buy on the night.
