Calling all knitters and sewers - the Tour De Tod steering group needs you!

When the world famous Tour De France race comes to the Calder Valley next July, the group hopes to deck the town out in themed bunting.

This will be either sewn together bunting flags or knitted yellow jerseys to give the town a distinctive look when visitors arrive to watch the race.

The group is also appealing to the public to donate any old yellow or white T-shirts which can be dyed yellow to help make the bunting.

It will all be complemented by floral designs being planned by Todmorden in Bloom.

Cynthia Murray, of the steering group, said T-shirts can be dropped off at Todmorden Information Centre or at the Beauty Studio on Brook Street.

Sewers and knitters are also being sought. Call in at the TIC for more details.
