THE Liberal Democrat MEP for Yorkshire and Humber will hold a public meeting in Hebden Bridge on Friday evening, September 14.

Edward McMillan-Scott has arranged the event at the White Lion Hotel at 7.30pm to highlight and discuss human rights around the globe and the spread of democracy through the Arab world.

He said: “I am looking forward to an enjoyable evening of discussion and debate about how we can further spread both democracy and human rights around the world and also closer to home.”

Local ward councillor Janet Battye said: “We are looking forward to welcoming Edward to Hebden Bridge again and hope local residents will come along and get involved in this important debate.”
