CHILDREN dressed up as their favourite biblical figures for a special event to mark All Saints’ Day.

The celebration at St Joseph’s Church, Todmorden, saw children from nearby St Joseph’s Primary School and the parish take part in traditional seasonal games such as apple bobbing and find out more about their favourite saints.

Alison Bath, who organised the event with Jo Ruane and support from the community, said: “It was a really nice community event will all different ages getting involved and having fun together and finding out about the saints at the same time.

“The children loved it. They had a really good time.”

Alison said the event is held every year to raise the profile of All Saints’ Day, which follows Halloween.

“We like the children to learn about light conquering the darkness,” she said.
