A motorist and their passengers had a lucky escape when the car they were travelling in aquaplaned, rolled down a banking and landed on its roof in Rastrick.

The incident happened on New Hey Road at around 8pm on Saturday, May 10.

The occupants of the car were taken to hospital with shock but they were all later released.

PC Cameron Buchan of Western Area Road Policing said “Aquaplaning is often a risk with heavy rain. Thankfully this matter ended with all persons okay.”
