Families are being challenged to take part in an epic treasure hunt adventure across the region’s most beautiful landmarks, with the chance to strike gold!
Todmorden based puppet company Frolicked has collaborated with local jewellery designer Emma White on a very special commission for their upcoming event The Hunt. One lucky family will have the chance to win a special Tour de France-inspired prize, a one-off pure gold miniature bicycle.
The Hunt - free to take part in - is a puppet-filled treasure hunt that leads intrepid families to historic locations around Yorkshire.
Frolicked will deliver this live treasure hunt event as part of the Yorkshire Festival 2014: a 100 day festival to commemorate the Grand Depart of the Tour de France coming to Yorkshire. It is the first ever arts festival to precede the Grand Départ in its 111 year history and The Hunt was selected as one of nearly 50 commissioned events.
Director of Frolicked, Beka Haigh said: “Frolicked is delighted that our puppet-filled treasure hunt has been chosen as part of Yorkshire Festival 2014. We can’t wait to introduce the public to our eclectic creatures and characters and we hope you’ll join us for what promises to be a tantalising event with a truly unique prize for the winner.”
The local hunt is at Dean Clough Mills in Halifax on June 7.
Calderdale Council’s Director of Communities and Business Change, and Vice-Chair of the Yorkshire Festival Steering Group, Robin Tuddenham, said: “I’m really pleased that Frolicked, one of our local arts companies has been commissioned as part of Yorkshire Festival 2014. Dean Clough Mills will be the perfect backdrop for young and old alike to enjoy this exciting puppet-filled treasure hunt.
The packed Festival programme really highlights the variety of cultural activities that Yorkshire has to offer, and I’m delighted that Calderdale can be part of it.”
Where you can register: Still to take place are Knaresborough Castle (May 30); Dean Clough Mills, Halifax (June 7) and Riverside Library, Rotherham (June 14) plus a final secret location that you will discover along the way.
