Poems and prayer at harvest festival

A SPECIAL assembly to celebrate Harvest Festival was held for children, parents and staff at a Todmorden primary school.

Hymns, songs, poems, prayers and displays of pupils work were all enjoyed during the special celebration at Ferney Lee.

Headteacher Pauline Brogan-Hewitt said: "It was lovely to welcome so many people into the school.

"Our harvest assembly was a real community celebration and our children presented some wonderful work."

The session was introduced by special guest the Rev Tracy Ibbotson of St Mary's Church. A raffle raised 132 for the church's Save The Children Fund.

Mrs Brogan-Hewitt added: "I would just like to thank everyone who contributed so generously to our harvest appeal."
