READER and neighbouring Garfield Street resident Arthur Eardley sent us this photograph of the wall collapse at Victoria Street, Cornholme.

While Network Rail engineers are assessing the damage rail services using the Burnley line, which connects Preston and Leeds and runs through the Calder Valley, which will have to be stabilised and repaired.

Mr Eardley says residents heard a noise around 10.30pm last night and daylight revealed the extent of the damage.
