Rotary Club hosts annual swimathon
Hucknall Rotary President, Ian Young is joined by members of the 4th and 8th Hucknall Guides at a sponsored swim event at the Leisure Centre on Saturday afternoon to raise money for their group along with the Boys Brigade, Framework, the Thursday Club, 1803 Air Cadets and Pyramid Acrobatic Club.
TEAMS from various community groups all dived in to the Hucknall Rotary Club’s annual swimathon event on Saturday.
A whopping 42 swimmers representing nine different groups from across the district took part in a bid to raise cash for their chosen charity or club.
This included 14 year-old Victoria Widdowson of 8th Hucknall Guides who swam over 128 lengths of the 25 metre pool at Hucknall Leisure Centre which equates to two miles in under two hours.
