The arts and crafts section of Todmorden Agricultural Show, which returns to Centre Vale Park, Todmorden, on Saturday, June 21, is now ready to receive entries for these classes.
Schedules and entry forms are now available from Todmorden information Centre, Todmorden Library, Todmorden Community College, Hebden Bridge Tourist Information Centre, Hebden Bridge Library, newsagent Todmorden News Centre on Bridge Street, Todmorden, and through local schools.
Classes for competitors in the adult section are handicrafts, hand crafted bead jewellery, woodwork, flower arrangements, baking, painting, pastels or drawing, three dimensional art and photography.
This year children’s rosettes have been sponsored by Todmorden based company Weir Minerals Europe Ltd, and school age classes include baking, needlework, craft, painting, handwriting, design technology and photography. There will be demonstrations in the arts and crafts tent in the afternoon, said section secretary Anne Cryer.
“We would like to thank everyone who entered our last show in 2012, for making our tent so successful and hope for a good entry again this time,” she said.
Mrs Cryer said there would again be an opportunity of getting your entry form in ahead of the day itself, saving some money into the bargain.
On Saturday, June 7, the arts and crafts section will have a stall on Todmorden market from 10am to 3pm, where they will be able to accept completed forms.
“This we hope will hekp to make pre-show day entries easier,” said Mrs Cryer. “Entries made on the day of the show will be charged £1.”
Arrangements for the show, which is staged by Todmorden Agricultural Society, are now well under way. Special attractions include the return of The Sheep Show.
