Stand up against violence
The Three Valleys Gospel Choir is very excited to be taking part in the ‘1 Billion Rising’ event in Manchester on Thursday (February 14).
‘Manchester Rising’ is an evening of singing, dancing, music and poetry from all over the north west. It will see people coming together at the Zion Centre in Hulme in support of victims of violence around the world. The choir was thrilled to have a massive turnout at the first of its rehearsals for this event, with singers from as far afield as Nelson and Manchester as well as Todmorden, Hebden Bridge and Mytholmroyd, who descended on Todmorden on Saturday afternoon.
Members want to give people in the upper Calder Valley a chance to show their support through their voices and are throwing open an invitation to anyone who would like to sing with them on the evening.
Interested singers should attend another rehearsal on Monday (7.30pm to 8.30pm) at Central Methodist Church, Bramsche Square, Todmorden. Just turn up and you will be made very welcome.
