UPDATED: Road re-opens between Hebden Bridge and Todmorden after accident

The stretch of road on the A646 has re-opened after an accident close to Todmorden this afternoon.

The accident took place at 2.56pm on the A646, which closed it in both directions between the Heptonstall turning circle and Todmorden town centre at the junction of Halifax Road and Burnley Road.

The accident involved a Mitsubishi containing three elderly people which crashed into a tree near the Bridgeholme Cricket Club, who are being treated at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary for their injuries.
