Todmorden

The next Oak over 50s 'Drop-in Friday' will take place at Central Methodist Church on April 2 from 10am until 3pm. Activities include line dancing, Tai Chi, board games, singing, crafts and a new knitting clinic. Tai Chi sessions also take place at Yew Tree Court, Walsden, on Fridays from 9.40am until 10.40am. The monthly Strictly Vinyl night at the Venue Nightclub will be held on Friday April 2 from 11pm until 4am. The regular DJs will play Todmorden soul, shaking house and electro. Entry is 5.

Hebden Bridge

Calder High students will perform the Pace Egg play at various locations in the Upper Calder Valley on Friday April 2, starting at Banksfield Estate at 8.45am and finishing in Heptonstall at 3pm. All funds raised by students on the day will be donated to Overgate Hospice. The play will also be performed by Heptonstall Players at Weaver's Square, Heptonstall, on Good Friday.

Jeff Bridges, winner of the 2010 Best Actor Oscar, stars in 'Crazy Heart' at the Picture House from April 2-4. Bridges plays a worn-down country singer who forms an unusual bond with a burgeoning journalist in the drama adapted from the novel by Thomas Cobb. Also showing in the coming week is 'The Princess and the Frog', 'A Single Man', 'The Wolfman', 'Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief' and 'Micmacs'. The Angel Brothers come to the Trades Club on Saturday April 3. Over the years Dave and Keith Angel have established themselves as one of the most innovative acts on the world/roots circuit. Hebden Bridge-based Hibernate recordings presents a live music event at The Hole In T'Wall on Thursday April 8 at 8pm. The event, which will be headlined by Manchester band Last Harbour, will also feature Hidden Bek, Cool Piano Roll and a DJ set by Was Ist Das Soundsystem.

Rochdale

Studds Bar will host One Big Easter Indie 2010 - The re-launch on Sunday April 4. It will feature Wonderwall, The Jam Restart, Transmission, Blue Rein and The Shameless, plus several DJs. Doors open at 6pm. Tickets priced 12 are available from the Rochdale FC club shop, the Horse and Farrier in Rochdale, and Ticketline.
