Meeting with Metro arranged over minibus services

Metro services: a meeting
Metro services: a meeting

MINIBUS services in the Calder Valley will be discussed at a meeting between several parish councils and Metro officials on Wednesday, July 25.

A joint meeting of the Parish Councils of Wadsworth, Heptonstall, Erringden & Hebden Royd Town Council with Metro representative Dave Pearson is to be held in the council chamber of Hebden Bridge Town Hall at 7.30 pm.

The meeting will be clerked by Wadsworth Parish Council and questions have been submitted in advance but there will be an opportunity to table more.

Questions include: to suggest a review of timetables to avoid minibuses running alongside double deckers; to request assurance that smaller buses will always be used to enable access to all routes; to request assurance that buses will actually turn up when advertised; to discuss the discontinuance of the late night flexi bus to Blackshaw Head and Kebs (The Sportsman), Todmorden; to discuss measures to improve the viability of the service, such as extending the Kebs service to the Shore Road junction above Cornholme; ticketing issues; to discuss the establishment of a proper focus group of customers; and to meet regularly with Metro until all the longer term issues have been resolved.
