Motoring issues action day success

PCSO Elayne Leach told members of a safety watchdog that a recent action day over motoring issues had been a success.

She told members of Todmorden Accodent Prevention Council that the day, which involved the Roads Policing Unit and local officers in Todmorden, had seen a considerable number of fixed penalty tickets issued to drivers caught using mobile phones, or who were not wearing their seat belts.

These had been areas of concern for council members who appreciated the action, but pointed out drivers continued to flout the law regarding these issues.

The council urged that police action in both these areas should be continued.
