Bayonets were drawn and instruments played at a musical re-enactment of the Battle of Waterloo.

The bloody battle on June 18, 1815, marked the final defeat for Napoleon at the hands of a coalition of his enemies.

And it was a major turning point in European history which put an end to Napoleon’s ambitions to rule much of Europe.

This week celebrated the 200th anniversary of the battle.

And a musical re-enactment was held at Manor Heath Park, Halifax, on Saturday evening.

It featured the Duke of Wellington’s 33rd Regiment, which had strong links with Halifax.

The Yorkshire Regiment Band performed at the event.
