POLICE are welcoming a familiar face at the helm in Calderdale.
Martin Lister has made the move from Chief Inspector to Superintendent.
Supt Lister said: “I am absolutely delighted to be able to continue working in Calderdale.
“The low crime rates speak for themselves – Calderdale is one of the safest areas to live in West Yorkshire.
“We are making a positive impact within the community and I will continue to put local people at the forefront of everything I do. By that I mean listening and working with them to address their concerns.
“We have tremendously effective partnerships within Calderdale and I am delighted that I can continue working with those involved to improve the lives of those who live and work in the area.”
Supt Lister joined the force 25 years ago, starting work in the Dewsbury area. Since then he has clocked up a wealth of experience working in nine different divisions and departments across West Yorkshire and spent two years at South Yorkshire Police.
He returned to West Yorkshire Police in 2008, based at its headquarters in Wakefield, before coming to Calderdale in 2009.
