Oak is ready to grow in a busy spring

SPRING’S the time to snap out of any winter torpor and the Oak group believes it has just the activities lined up to help you do so.

Oak - the Todmorden community group which aims to improve the health and well-being of people over 50 in Todmorden - has plenty of activities lined up.

Members of the group, which meets between 10am and 3pm each Friday at Central Methodist Church, Todmorden, have already been on a day trip to York last Saturday and recently attended theatre visits to Manchester, Halifax and Bradford.

Next week they will be watching a local production, TAODS’ Rent at the town’s Hippodrome Theatre. Trips are organised on an occasional basis.

The emphasis at Friday sessions is to join in activities which include sequence and line dancing, tai chi, singing, creative writing and craft sessions.

All sessions are open to members and non-members alike at a cost of £2 per session.

For more information about the group, contact Christine Potter on 01706 815004.

The next general meeting for members is on Friday, April 15.
