OWNERS of a parrot who went missing in the summer are appealing to residents in the upper Calder Valley for information.
Victoria Roebuck’s African grey parrot, Ernie, flew away from her Barkisland home on June 19 and has not yet been found.
Victoria said the parrot can fly quite a long distance so could have made it to the upper Calder Valley. She has had a few calls from residents in Mytholmroyd about possible sightings.
“Parrots tend to tree-hop,” she said.
“Ernie would fly from tree to tree rather than just in a straight line.
“When he flew off initially, he flew off very high and very fast. We didn’t think he could fly that high because his wings had been clipped.
“It’s been three months since he went missing, so he could be anywhere.”
Victoria asked anyone with information about the parrot to get in touch with her by calling 07595 980869.
