Palestinian dance coming to town

TRADITIONAL Palestinian dance is set to come to Mytholmroyd later this month.

On Saturday, June 16, at 7pm, a group of teenage dancers from Bethlehem will perform Dabke at the Ted Hughes Theatre, Calder High School, Brier Hey Lane.

The audience will also see short films made by the youngsters who are from the Lajee Cultural Centre, Aida Refugee Camp, Bethlehem. Their dance celebrates their cultural heritage and identity as Palestinians. They were last in Calderdale in 2010, as part of the Discover Palestine Festival and performed dance routines with Calder High students at the Halifax Piece Hall.

Tickets are available at the door and are £5. £2 for concessions, and free for children under 16.
