Praise for Special Jon

A SPECIAL Constable who saved a man from a fast-flowing river is to receive a commendation from West Yorkshire’s Chief Constable.

Section Officer Jon Sayer, who used to be a life-guard, pulled the man from a swollen River Calder in Todmorden in August.

The volunteer officer, who is a scout leader and a self-employed plumber by day, said at the time: “It’s all in a day’s work.”
