Roll up, roll up for an evening of music and fun!

All the fun of the Proms takes place at Todmorden Town Hall at 7.30pm on Saturday, April 11, in aid of the Mayor of Todmorden’s charity appeal which this year benefits Todmorden Hippodrome Theatre and Independent Nightlife, a club for adults with learning disabilities.

Mayor Coun Michael Gill’s evening promises to be a cross between ‘Party in the Park’ and the ‘Last Night of the Proms’.

Todmorden Community Brass Band will play, including familiar pieces more associated with the Royal Albert Hall than Todmorden Town Hall, and later in the evening there will be music from the Jonny Walker Band designed to get everyone on their feet dancing,

The hall will be a hive of activity with guests encouraged to have a go at some of the traditional carnival side show games which will be on offer, such as ‘Bat The Rat’ or ‘Hook A Duck’.

In keeping with the ‘Party in the Park’ theme, guests are invited to bring along a picnic.

This can be as simple or elaborate as you like, be it a sandwich and an apple or a banquet complete with candelabra, you could even pop out and pick up a pizza!

Guests are asked not to bring alcoholic drinks as there will be a bar.

Tickets are £10, and there is a “buy nine and get the 10th free” deal.

They are available from The Crumbly Cheese stall in Todmorden Market Hall, from Todmorden Information Centre or call Michael himself on 07885494726.
