Pub owner assaulted after customer tries to steal Christmas decoration

A pub owner was assaulted after a customer tried to steal a Christmas decoration.

Police are now investigating and have released CCTV images of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the offence at the Crown Inn, Crown Street, Hebden Bridge.

It happened between 10.30pm and 10.45pm on Sunday, November 29.

The 47-year-old victim confronted a man about the suspected theft of a Christmas decoration. She was able to get the decoration back off the man but suffered injuries while attempting to detain him.

PC John Stocks, of Valley North Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “As part of our ongoing enquiries in to this offence, we are keen to speak to anyone who recognises the man pictured. We would ask anyone with information about this man’s identity, or indeed the man himself, to please come forward.

“Information should be passed to the Valley North Neighbourhood Policing Team via 101 or independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
