Children from Ferney Lee School showed their creative skills when they took part in a model design challenge.

The youngsters in Year four, five and six attended a workshop which combined design technology and science skills using K’nex building materials.

The children worked in pairs to design a windmill which had to meet a number of essential criteria.

They were then challenged to work together to build a model using their design.

The winners were Georgia Terry-Davis, in Year six, and Umaymah Kabeer, in Year four.
