Staff reassure customers on two of town’s public houses

STAFF at two Todmorden pubs have reassured customers that it will soon be business as usual.

There has been much speculation regarding the future of the Royal George, on Rochdale Road, since it shut its doors last week.

Staff have said it is currently closed while the process of a change of management takes place.

It is scheduled to re-open in approximately three to four weeks under new management.

Customers at the Golden Lion, in Fielden Square, have been unable to have meals lately as the pub’s kitchen has been closed.

Staff have explained that the kitchen will re-open once the chef returns from holiday.

Although the kitchen is currently closed, the bar remains open as usual to customers.

Both the Royal George and the Golden Lion have been run by landlord Michael Durkin for the past few years.
