STUDENTS took on their teachers in a charity challenge during a day of fundraising activities.

Sixth formers at Todmorden High School faced off against staff in a messy challenge which saw them have to dunk their heads into bowls of various items of food to retrieve letters required to spell the word charity.

In a close finish, the staff team emerged victorious.

Other activities included teacher Mr Piotrowicz shaving his head and there was a competition to guess how many balloons it took to fill a car.

Pupils and staff also wore pink for the non-uniform day, which raised close to £1,000 for Cancer Research UK.

Senior school leader Anna Brannigan said: “I’m really pleased with how it’s gone.”

Staff member Philippa McNamara thanked everybody who helped to raise the money.
