ONE of Calderdale’s longest-serving councillors has cited national politics as the reason why she lost her Todmorden seat
Liberal Democrat Olwen Jennings had sat in Calderdale since 1999 but lost out to Labour candidate Jayne Booth by 477 votes.
Mrs Jennings said: “I am disappointed. I think I might need some persuading if I was going to stand next year. ”
The result was: Jayne Booth (Lab) 1182; Olwen Jennings (Lib Dem) 705; David Jones (BPP) 203; David O’Neill (Ind) 461; Julie Stansfield (Con) 822; Kate Sweeny (Green) 259.
