A supermarket is undergoing a £1.5m makeover to transform it into an energy efficient store and substantially reduce its carbon footprint
The Morrisons store on Rochdale Road, Todmorden, is having new fridges and lighting installed to lower the total amount of energy used.
The project should be completed by early September.
Trevor Walker, the store’s general manager, is asking customers to be patient while the changes take place.
“The store’s going to be fantastic once it’s finished.
“It’s important that the store is fit for the future and that includes being more green. It’s a great investment and once the work’s finished the store will feel much lighter and more airy, as well as being a lot more environmentally friendly,” he said.
