Theatrical students will take to the stage today (Monday) for a special Shakespearean performance.

Performing arts students from Calderdale College are preparing to perform William Shakespeare’s Titus Andronicus this evening in Halifax.

The production, which includes a total of 14 students, will take place as part of the national Shakespeare Schools Festival at the Victoria Theatre in Halifax at 7pm.

The students have been preparing for the performance out of normal teaching hours.

Performing arts lecturer Andrea Quantrill said: “The students were previously scared of Shakespeare, but not once has anyone said they don’t understand it.

“It has really worked as an extracurricular activity.”

Tickets for the event cost £10 and are available at the box office.
