CHILDREN have turned Todmorden buildings into Gustaf Klimt inspired artwork for a special exhibition.

Youngsters from Cornholme, Castle Hill, Ferney Lee, Todmorden C of E and Walsden St Peter’s schools have used a wide range of materials to create their artwork under the guiding hand of teacher Clare Sargent, based at Todmorden High School.

The exhibition is now on display at Platform One Gallery and it will run until July 3.

John Botterill, deputy headteacher at Todmorden High School, thanked the gallery for the opportunity to display the children’s work, which he thought was very impressive.

“It’s awe-inspiring. It takes your breath away,” he said.

“Anybody who wants to run the town down should come and have a look at Platform One Gallery.”

The gallery is open Thursday to Sunday from 11am until 4pm.
