THE latest trip for the Let’s Go group of Todmorden U3A was to Lancaster, where members toured the historic castle and meandered the city’s various quaint alleyways.

After lunch the group visited Leighton Hall, the home of the Gillow family, famous as furniture manufacturers.

They were given a personal tour by Caroline Gillows-Reynolds, the wife of the owner and shown the original expanding dining table, which can accommodate from four to 22 people.

Later there was a display of birds of prey.

The next Let’s Go trips will be to Radio Lancashire in October and the group’s annual Christmas shopping expedition, this time to York, which will be in December.
