A TRIO of food enthusiasts will put their culinary knowledge to test when they appear on a new TV show next week.

Blogger Joby Catto, Sarah-Jane Clegg, of Porcus, and chef Ben Hyde will be one of the teams on A Question of Taste, airing on BBC Two on Monday at 7.30pm.

Joby and Sarah-Jane, both of Todmorden, and Chorlton-based Ben were very pleased to be invited on the show.

Joby said: “We really enjoyed taking part in this TV quiz, pitting our wits against fellow foodies and proudly representing the north. As for whether we won or lost, we’ll have to keep you guessing until transmission.”

Team captain Joby co-authors a food blog with his sister, who lives in London, contrasting the food scene in the capital with the best of what Calderdale and Greater Manchester have to offer. They have built up a large following online and this brought them to the attention of the production company.

“We’re both madly passionate about food so it’s great living here,” he said. “I like to shine a light on local producers.”

Sarah-Jane runs Porcus at Height Top Barn, above Todmorden, producing high welfare, free range, organic pork products. She is also involved with Incredible Edible Todmorden. Ben is a chef at North Star Deli in Chorlton, Manchester.

Hosted by Kirsty Wark, the show tests their food familiarity and teaches them new and surprising gastronomic facts.
