Turbine plan not backed

COUNCILLORS have recommended refusal of plans for three small scale wind turbines at a farm in Todmorden.

Mr and Mrs Pilling, of Hartley Royd, Blue Bell Lane, have submitted an application for the three turbines to provide electricity for the farm house and associated farm buildings.

But members of Todmorden town council’s development committee voted against the plans as the turbines are higher than the maximum level set in the town council’s moorland policy.

Coun Anne James also had concerns about the proximity of the proposed turbines to a nearby footpath and bridleway.
