Walk’s contribution is ‘immense’

ONE of Todmorden’s biggest businesses is a major supporter of this year’s 30th Todmorden Rotary Club Boundary Walk, which is being held on the May Bank Holiday weekend.

Mr Peter Rigg, of Gordon Rigg’s garden centre, Walsden, said he was pleased to get behind the walk, because it was an important date in the town’s social calendar.

“I think it’s important that local businesses support the community whenever possible. The Rotary Club’s Boundary Walk is an institution in Todmorden,” he said.

“When you think of the thousands of people who have taken part over the years and the money raised for charity, it is immense.”

This year’s walk is on Sunday, May 6, with options of the full 22-mile walk or shorter Pike Hike.

Entry forms are now available from Todmorden Information Centre or Margaret’s China and Glass, both in Burnley Road, Todmorden, or can be downloaded from Rotary’s site, www.todrotary.org where you can also find more details. Boundary Walk chairman Paul Hughes can be contacted on 01706 813091 for more details.
